Quality process

Our work methods are characterised by client follow-up and regular checks throughout the life cycle of your project. Aimed at developing a long-term working relationship, our approach is characterised by personalised project management – your guarantee of translations of excellent quality.

Full analysis of your translation request

  • We analyse your needs (deadline, volume to be translated, target audience, etc.).
  • We check that the file opens correctly and what software version to use.
  • We count the number of pages and words.
  • We check that the documents are legible.
  • We request additional information in the case of truncated or incomplete texts.
  • We assess the feasibility of translating the material in the requested format.

Our translators' promise

  • To translate only into their mother tongue and only in areas in which they are fully competent
  • To meet the deadlines given
  • To keep strictly confidential any information entrusted to them as part of the job assigned (any archived files will be destroyed upon written request)
  • To ensure the traceability of all translations (by archiving them)
  • To note any questions, queries or incoherencies and inform the project manager of such
  • To use the terminology specified by the client (glossary, leaflets, websites, documents already translated, etc.)
  • To draw up a glossary which can be submitted to clients for their approval, if appropriate
  • To ensure that the text is consistent throughout, and check that terms have not been changed during the translation process
  • To ensure the coherence between the contents page and the body of the text

Layout

  • Our translators overwrite the original text so as to conserve the original layout in the translation.
  •  In the absence of electronic files, unless otherwise indicated, the following standards are observed:
    • margin: 2.5cm (top, bottom, left and right)
    •  font: Arial 11
    • alignment: justified
    • page numbers are given in the footer of the page

Quality control

  • Our translators print the document and proofread the print-out.
  • They check the punctuation.
  • They check that the file name does indeed correspond to the name the project manager gave them.

Proofreading by a second translator

  • The project manager then passes the translation to a second translator.
  • The proofreader checks the quality and accuracy of the translation and makes all the necessary changes before delivering it to the client.

Confidentiality

  • The Word Company is bound by total and absolute professional secrecy and undertakes to keep strictly confidential all documents and information transmitted or communicated to it as part of the execution of the present assignment, and to send translations to the email address indicated only.
